Greentech (Vancouver) – Economic Renewal

March 11, 2009

I just attended Vancouvers first Greentech Forum last week and was sooo happy to see so many people there! I know there are a lot of fancy ideas for innovative ways to design and create a more sustainable business pratice and even as the words flow from my finger tips – I feel every article I ever read on green… But this said I feel inspired that sooo many people – yes business men too who will eventually make tooo huge a profit and forget there roots – but people, who will profit with good intentions :)

If you want to learn more about this event, have a look at this video I created for VancouverIAM.

Introducing myself

February 25, 2009

I want to introduce myself and my interest and reason for starting this blog. I live and work in Vancouver – I have a passion for the place. I am only starting to understand the layers of problems that Vancouver/BC faces. But all considered it’s not doing too badly.

I work as a freelance video journalist – Mainly for VancouverIAM a social media network online.

It has become increasingly apparent to me how important the online community really is – I am only now starting twitter. My friend, who is socially the “it” girl in computer land really made a strong impression when she talked about how essential the online world is.

Now we have the opportunity to really change things… Online petitions, social groups, activists, social media, citizen journalist. Everyone has an opportunity to really get involved. There is no longer an excuse to act passively to something that is bothing you.

I like all of this and am really excited to be taking part in this online movement. This is why I blog today.
